Another year has passed for CAMIT. Our focus for the New Year is to expand
the CAMIT network. We look forward to bringing more activities to local
chapters in Texas, Northern California and Southern California in addition to
our programs in the Boston and New York areas.
You are one of the small and distinguished group of people who have had the
benefit of an MIT education. Our programs are oriented towards promoting the
common background and interests shared by alumni of MIT and friends, including
providing a medium for the exchange of information and flow of ideas, and a
network and organization of resources so as to foster programs of special
interest related to Chinese culture.
Our activities range, for example, from the Lunar New Year Banquet to dumpling
(making and, of course, eating) parties, and from hiking trips to outings to
the Noguchi Museum. Further, CAMIT will continue to assist MIT with
fund-raising for the Chinese Language and Culture Program and other Chinese
scholarship programs. In addition, we intend to renew our efforts to develop
our connections with Chinese students at MIT as well as with local Chinese
communities.
As we enter this new calendar year, we would like to develop a membership base
which allows us to expand our current offerings with regional and networking
programs. To do this successfully, we need your help! We welcome suggestions
and volunteers—please include your comments or suggestions on the reply
form.
