Hiking Series -- One of two choices: overnight backpacking into Echo Lake or just day hiking the Ellenville Ice Caves

Please RSVP if you are interested in an overnight backpacking trip with a 6-mile walk in along an old road. Camping will be by a lake. Not far in the distance are the ruins of a partly built hotel. There is also a State fire tower and great cliff top views over the Hudson valley. If there is not enough interest, I will do day hiking to Ellenville, NY to visit the lesser well known mountainside Ice Caves. Head up from Ellenville on Smiley Road, loop around to High Point, and then descend to the Ice Caves along a brushy, unmaintained trail. Dinner near Ellenville if we do the Ice Caves.    7 miles or 14 miles

Annual Deep-sea fishing trip
oin us aboard a spectacular fishing/party boat in the Atlantic Highlands of New Jersey for a fun day of deep-sea Fluke fishing.
Have no fear if fishing is new to you. Everything from fishing rods, baits, and training will be provided on-site. You will be fishing like a pro and have trophies to bag home in no time. If you are a seasoned veteran, try your luck at beating the current state record of 22 pounds for a single fluke. Or you can just catch and release, even wash your hands of fishing entirely, and simply drift away into the open skyline, either standing at the bow, chatting away with friends at portside, napping at the stern, or lounging in the gallery. Of course you will have plenty of drinks and junk food to munch.
