Dr. Aziz has discovered an innovative nano Cryoimaging technology for disease biomarkers, and is working with her startup company, Vitrimark, to get this new biotech tool going.

Dr. Aziz founded Vitrimark in 2004 together with Dr. Bose to leverage their unique expertise in nanoscale cryoimaging to identify structural biomarkers for the early detection of disease, and to exploit their utility and integration in the drug development process. Cryoimaging of biological fluids has the potential to dramatically drop the cost associated with biomarker discovery and validation, reducing drug development expenses for the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr. Aziz is co-founder and CSO of Vitrimark, Inc, a biotechnology company utilizing cryo‐electron microscopy of imaging biological fluids for biomarker discovery. Previously, Dr. Aziz held positions as VP of R&D at Interleukin Genetics, VP of External Research at Point Therapeutics, Director of Translational Research at the Novartis Institute of Biomedical Research, and Group Leader of the Gene Expression Division at Zycos. She has also been an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Aziz obtained her B.A. from Wellesley College, and both her Masters and Ph.D. from M.I.T. She did her post-doctoral fellowships at Harvard University and the Whitehead.
