Have you ever wanted to learn how to stand up to the bullies and nut cases
around your world? The MIT Club of Washington cordially invites you to an
exciting evening to learn how to deal successfully with such people by Philip L.
Marcus '65.
Bullies and nut cases are types of people that everyone has to deal with
occasionally and hates doing. At the end of the talk, you won’t hate them
anymore because you will learn how to successfully negotiate with them. You will
learn the three classes of these complicated people, how they differ, why they
employ such tactics, and how to deploy methods that will result in your serenity
and win deals or at least in conditions you can handle without screaming.
Philip Marcus is a graduate of MIT ('63 SB EE and '65 SM EE) and the
University of Maryland School of Law. He has practiced law as a trial lawyer,
run his own computer software company, and taught at Towson State University and
Hampton University. He now practices law, focusing on business deal-making and
negotiating resolutions to business disputes and issues of intellectual property
law including patent license marketing.
The event will begin with registration at 6:30 p.m. followed by buffet dinner
at 7:00 p.m. The formal presentation will begin at 8:00 p.m. and there will
ample time for questions and discussions.
