Somewhat against expectations, I find myself spending more time practicing massage and teaching t'ai chi than I'd have thought likely when I first started doing so as a hobby.

Since that time, both t'ai chi and massage have become more popular both for individuals and as options for employees in a corporate environment as ways to improve people's work - life balance.

From Mike Talalay     August, 2006

I've just launched a new company, product and web site that might be interesting to club members. It's for IT risk management. I've developed a software product that enables a business to audit and manage its IT risk without needing to engage expensive external consultants. The product is content-rich, easy to use, downloadable from the web, and very competitively priced.

IT RISK MANAGER - the easy-to-use software tool that enables businesses to identify, measure, and manage their IT-related risk.

IT Risk Manager is a content-rich product and not merely a framework or a digital dashboard. At its core is a detailed, structured questionnaire that walks the user through a comprehensive analysis of possible risks. The results - presented in easily understood tables and graphs - give a scorecard of the areas and the severity of risk.

At the same time, IT Risk Manager guides the organisation through the production of a policies and procedures guide - a risk management manual specific to the organisation and its circumstances.

IT Risk Manager provides a cost-effective approach to risk management:

  • Because it is administered in house, it saves on expensive consultancy fees.
  • Because it is repeatable - buy it once but use it as often as required – it significantly reduces the ongoing costs of risk management.
  • Because it is content rich, set-up is quick and easy, thereby saving on internal time, effort and cost.

Finally, because IT Risk Manager is a business improvement tool, it enables a company not only to identify and manage risk but also to understand and improve the ways in which IT supports its business.

For more details or to purchase IT Risk Manager on line, go to www.itriskmanager.com.The web site has free downloads: including a PowerPoint presentation that explains both the features and the benefits of IT Risk Manager, and a White Paper that provides an analysis of how to identify, measure, and manage IT-related risk.
