10:00 a.m. - Arrive at Mote and proceed to the Buchanan meeting room for a presentation/discussion with MIT Alumni Dr. Glen Shen, Executive Vice President of Research at Mote
11:00 a.m. - Laboratory Tour by Mote Volunteers (The group will be divided into 3 groups for the tour of our laboratory areas.)
12:00 p.m. - Lunch at Deep Sea Diner (Food orders can be placed prior to visit but this is not necessary; log onto www.mote.org/DeepSeaDiner for a complete menu. Call 941-388-3415 to place order at least 24 hours in advance)
Following lunch - The group will continue on a self-guided tour of Mote Aquarium
Presentation/discussion with MIT Alumni Dr. Glen Shen, Executive Vice President of Research at Mote
Dr. Glen T. Shen has joined the laboratory as Executive Vice President for Research. Dr. Shen, a marine geochemist, joins Mote most recently from the University of Washington where he served as Managing Director for a National Science Foundation Science and Technology Center. Past peer-reviewed publications include pieces in the prestigious international journal "Nature" and cover topics ranging from coral reef ecology to climate change.
