MIT Club of San Diego SEPT Scholarship

The Science and Engineering Program for Teachers (SEPT) is a MIT K12 Outreach program for middleý and high-school teachers. The purpose of the program is to bring teachers in contact with cutting-edge developments in the areas of biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and technology. The goal is to provide teachers with a perspective on the interface between science education, technology and society that they can use to shape classroom instruction.

In the spirit of these purposes, and with the goals of a) Promoting the teaching of science and technology in the San Diego area, and b) Honoring exemplary teachers who have provided inspiration to current and prospective MIT students from the San Diego area, the MIT Club of San Diego selects at least one teacher from student nominations and awards a scholarship, consisting of $750 tuition plus an allowance for transportation and incidentals.

Donate to the MIT Club of San Diego Fund and receive Alumni Fund Credit, a tax deduction, and promote science and technology awareness in exemplary San Diego County teachers ý a win, win contribution. Our club has sent 4 student nominated teachers in the last four years to the SEPT program but we need your help to continue.
