Shakespeare Festing and Feasting IV
Miller Outdoor Theatre - Hermann Park
Saturday, August 18
Dinner at Butera's: 6:30 PM
Performance: 8:30 PM
RSVP by August 15th

Continuing what is becoming a Club tradition, now in its fourth consecutive year, we will attend the Houston Shakespeare Festival at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park.  On Saturday, August 18, 2001, we will enjoy the UH School of Theatre's performance of "Romeo and Juliet." For those of you who have never attended the Houston Shakespeare Festival, this is a great opportunity to try out a local performance of the Bard's work.  There is no charge, and we will do our best to secure reserved seating for all.  However, be prepared to sit on the grass in case we run out of tickets or if you are late.  You need to be seated by 8:25 PM or the theater releases your reserved seat.

We will meet at Butera's at 4621 Montrose Blvd. (corner of Chelsea and Montrose) beforehand.  We have reserved seating at Butera's beginning at 6:30 PM for those who would like to get a bite to eat before our thespian outing.  Plan to pick up your tickets to the play at Butera's as well.

Please contact Ramon San Pedro if you would like tickets for the Shakespeare outing, and let him know if you plan to join us for dinner at Butera's.  We may also need volunteers to pick up tickets at the box office at 11:30 AM on the day of the performance, so let him know if you are available.  Please respond to Ramon at 713-849-0207, or email, by Wednesday, August 15th.

International Dining Club
The Bombay Brasserie
5160 Richmond Avenue
713.335.2000
Saturday, August 25 2001 at 7:30 PM

RSVP by Wednesday, August 22

In June, we went to a Columbian restaurant.  After enjoying the last two dinners at South American restaurants, we will shift our focus to the Continent of Asia and more specifically to the South Asia region. Our next International Dinner will be at "The Bombay Brasserie", an Indian restaurant. It is located just outside the Loop at Richmond and Sage.  Some dishes planned for us are Biryani, Chicken Karahi, Palak Paneer, Rogan Josh etc.

The cost is $20, which covers food, soft drinks, tax, and tip, with wine and beer extra.  The address is 5160 Richmond Avenue, Houston, Texas 77056 (tel. 713.335.2000). The restaurant is on the north side of Richmond in the same strip shopping center as City Streets and 24 Hour Fitness. Check the club website for a map.

Please RSVP to me at home at 713.436.3538, or via email, by Wednesday, August 22.  Seating is limited to 25 people, so dues-paid members (& their guests) have priority.  Also, at a dinner recently, we were charged for no-shows, so if you cannot make it, PLEASE CALL!  I hope to see you there!

Finally, the International Dinner following this is planned for October.  Further details in a future e-mail and/or newsletter, or check our web site.
