2009
July 25 It’s time to see the Houston Dynamo again! It's been nearly three months since they lost a game. Dominic Kinnear has been selected to coach the All-Star team. They play their next home game on Saturday night July 25 when our own Houston Dynamo hosts the New England Revolution at Robertson Stadium. The Dynamo beat the Revolution twice to win their MLS Cups, but last year the Revolution beat them for the Super Liga Championship. The Houston Dynamo has been playing great soccer and this will be another great game. This promises to be a good game with 90 minutes of non-stop action. With game time at 7:30, it will be cooling and comfortable for an outdoor event. The MIT Club of South Texas will be at the game. We’ve got good seats at a good price, so register by July 16 and we’ll see you there! (Tickets will be sent to you by US mail.) We had a wonderful time learning from Daryl about the "business" side of
professional basketball and were amazed to find out how IT/Data Mining
techniques are used during both recruiting activities and regular season play.
Daryl also answered our
general questions about the professional sport business. Click on each

2007 Sept 8 Let’s See The Houston Dynamo again!! Last year they won the 2006 the MLS Cup (the championship for US professional soccer) and we saw Brian Ching score the MLS goal of the year. On Saturday night September 8 our own Houston Dynamo and Real Salt Lake will meet at Robertson Stadium. The Houston Dynamo are leading the Western Conference. Houston, led Dwayne De Rosario, Brian Ching, and Paul Dalglish with Pat Onstad in goal, hold the league record for time played without giving up a goal. At the same time they have been running up big scores for their side. This promises to be a good game with 90 minutes of non-stop action. With game time at 7:30, it will be cool and comfortable for an outdoor event. The MIT Club of South Texas will be at the game. October 21 Hole
Sponsors: Our first (at least in recent memory) golf tournament! Although we had a small turnout on October 21 for the first MIT Club Golf Outing, all had a great time. The top golfer was Steve Koch, who shot an 81 at the watery Cypress Lakes Golf Course. Steve also won longest drive and closest to the pin, putting one 6 inches from the hole! Congratulations, Steve! - Greg Turner 2006 Sept 30
