Workshop Houston, recently highlighted in a Dec 29, 2008 Houston Chronicle article, is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering Houston's youth.  Workshop Houston provides enrichment activities for children in 5 shops: Third Ward Bike Shop (do-it-yourself bike repair), the Chopper Shop (welding and metal fabrication), the Beat Shop (hip-hop music production), the Style Shop (fashion design) and the Scholar Shop (academic support and tutoring).

Please join us for a day of demolition and construction of Workshop Houston's third building! If you don't really want to get your hands dirty, come anyway!  All the shops will be open and there will be staff on hand to show you around.  You are welcome to participate in any way you can!

Come and join your fellow alums for a morning to help out at the Houston Food Bank!  Each month, volunteers at HFB help distribute food to over 250,000 hungry mouths.  There’s a variety of jobs that is available for kids from age 8 and adults alike, so bring the whole family!  If you’d like to find out more, visit the HFB website or browse through the list of activities.

Please contact Chenny Zhu by May 10 if you’d like to make your Saturday morning into a productive and fulfilling one!
