O'Neil Outar from MIT Office of Institutional Initiatives travelled to Hong Kong with Professor Victor Zue and Associate Provost Philip Khoury. They spoke at the FCC on Sept 23. The title of their talk is "The MIT / CHINA INITIATIVE: A 20-Year Vision for Shared Innovation". It was a great opportunity to learn about globalization at MIT and where China fits in.

A group of 15 current MIT students from the MIT-China Development Initiative program (a student organization that aims to educate the MIT community on modern China/Asia developments) will be in town this week, and we are inviting you to come and join us for a few Happy Hour drinks. The Ivy Ball has been organized annually by the Hong Kong alumni associations of Ivy League member schools - Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, U. Pennsylvania, Princeton and Yale - and MIT since 1989. This year's event, "21", a casino-themed 21st birthday celebration for the Ivy Ball, was held at the Grand Hyatt Ballroom on June 27th, 2009, and was an evening of fun, excitement and celebration.

The MIT Media Lab has co-sponsored the Learning thru Engineering, Art, and Design Project ("LEAD") at Cyberport, a creative education platform for children (age 9-12, but they are open to work with children who are younger or older) through Lego robots (Mindstorm) and a simpler version - Cricket. For the first time - the MIT Club of Hong Kong have signed up a 2-hour creative class for you and your children on Dec 14 at 3pm. Experience first hand how MIT is changing the education landscape!
