The MIT Club of Germany aims to bring MIT alumni/ae and friends of MIT
living throughout Germany closer together for friendship, profession, cooperation,

Announcement: Education - Innovation - Responsibility

Since 1999, the Gude Foundation is successfully supporting science and research projects with a particular focus on social, ethical, and environmental aspects.
This year, the MIT Club of Germany belongs to the co-organizers of the Biannual Conference of the Gude Foundation.

Pre-Announcement: School With Science - 2015

SMW logo The registration process for high school teachers for the 2015 conference:
School With("MIT") Science -- SMW -- Schule MIT Wissenschaft
started on June 18 and ended on July 18.
We are going to have the German Nobel Laureate Professor Erwin Neher and two Professors from MIT, Mathias Kolle and Zoltan S. Spakovszky, among other scientists as speakers with us.

Last Event held: Brunch Breakfast at Fischer am ammersee

Impression of Lake Ammersee South Germany Club Event.
With this regional event, a new tradition will be started bringing together Club members, MIT alumni, and friends for socializing living in Southern Germany.
Of course, Club members, MIT alumni, and friends living farther away are cordially invited as well.

We encourage in particular new members of the Club to join.

Speaker: Todd R. Golub, MD
Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School Director of the Cancer Program at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard University.

Event held: Annual Meeting

MIT Club of Germany logo Annual Meeting 2014/2015:
The program includes the General Assembly, a Symposium on Biotechnology in Berlin and Boston, a visit to the Rolls-Royce Dahlewitz Plant, cultural activities, and opportunities for an extended thought exchange.

Event postponed: Future Science and Technology Policy in Hamburg

This event had to be postponed and is expected to take place later this year.
Instead, our board member Stefan Weissflog took over and gave an in-depth presentation on our extremely successul SMW conference 2014 held in Erfurt.


Event held: School With Science - 2014

We proudly announce the launch of a new event series:
School With("MIT") Science -- SMW -- Schule MIT Wissenschaft.
This first event is a concerted effort of the MIT Club of Germany in close cooperation with German non-profit partners and sponsors.
The event format is particularly tailored to dedicated secondary school teachers in Germany.
For 2014, we were extremely happy to have Nobel Laureate Professor Robert Huber and two Professors from MIT, Oliver Jagoutz and Thomas Schwartz, as speakers with us.
