Greetings Everyone!

Amy (Swanson) and Paul Witty welcomed daughter Alyssa on May 24, 2007. She has a big brother, Nathan (2.5 years old) who adores her. Amy gave up her mechanical engineering job when Nathan was born, and is now a stay-at-home-Mom and self-employed web designer. She loves being a Mom (although she sometimes long for an intellectual conversation).

Also, David Gaxiola and wife Jenny are happy to announce the arrival of their daughter Jiyu Kaylee on August 19, 2007. Jiyu is their first child, weighing 5 pounds, 15.9 ounces and measuring 21.5 inches long at birth. Jenny will be taking five months off from work to care for the newborn while David will return to work at Sony Computer Entertainment America after a two week break. Holly (Goo) and Matt Becker are excited to announce the arrival of their second child, Samuel Ing Becker, on March 25, 2007.

Hans Cho reports that after leaving MIT, he finished his doctorate in 2003 in the Materials Science Program at Columbia University. He then worked for Samsung doing semiconductor-related research in Kiheung, Korea for 3.5 years. He recently returned to the US and started working as a researcher at Hewlett-Packard Labs in Palo Alto, CA. Hans married Grace Namjin Kim, (course 3, ‘97) in 2000, and they have a son, Samuel, who just turned one year old! Jinhee and James Choung welcomed their new son, Isaiah Heesung Lee Choung on July 22, 2007. He weighed 8 pounds and was 21 inches long.

And Annie (Fortunato) and Scott Rhodes would like to announce the birth of our third daughter, Meredith Elena Rhodes on August 9, 2007 in Beverly, Massachusetts. She was a healthy 7 pounds, 13 ounces and 20.5 inches long! Big sisters, Genevieve and Leah, are delighted with their new baby sister but are even more happy to be starting kindergarten and nursery school, respectively, at St. Michael School in North Andover, MA. Victor Holmes and wife Betsy are enjoying time at home with their new son, Lachlan Gregory Holmes Marvit, born in early September 2007. Their 2-year old, Noa, is being good to her brother, if annoyed with her parents. Victor started a new position with Amyris Biotechnologies in late November working to develop biofuels.

Thank you to everyone who has submitted updates over the past few months. Please remember that you can submit updates and photos any time throughout the year to be posted on our class website, http://alumweb.mit.edu/classes/1995/.
