Class of 1995 UROP Fund
Give now at https://alum.mit.edu/giftform/GiftMain.dyn

The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) cultivates and supports research partnerships between MIT undergraduates and faculty members. MIT's UROP was one of the earliest programs of its kind in the United States to invite undergraduates to participate in research as the junior colleagues of faculty.

Created in 1969 by the late Margaret L. A. MacVicar, Professor of Physical Science and MIT Dean for Undergraduate Education, UROP was inspired by Edwin H. Land, inventor of instant photography, who believed in the power of learning by doing. Approximately 80% of undergraduates participate at least once during their time at MIT.

Please support this important program by making a gift online at http://web.mit.edu/giving/ and designating it toward the Class of 1995 UROP Fund.

Visit http://web.mit.edu/urop/ for more information about the UROP Program.

We are pleased to report that the ’05 Lizette Arcé -Doshi Fund was awarded last spring for the first time to senior Grace Kessenich for her outstanding leadership in Dorm Council and the UA. A second student will be awarded Lizette’s scholarship this coming spring – more details to follow!

The Class of 1995 officers, in cooperation with MIT and Alpha Phi, established a memorial fund in honor of the late Lizette Arce-Doshi '95. The fund will endow a scholarship to go to disadvantaged women attending MIT who exhibit the qualities of leadership and service. The fund has had a successful first year, but it is still gathering enough revenue in order to fully endow the scholarship fund. In the 2002-2003 academic year part of the income will be used to support a merit grant for a student that meets the requirements of the scholarship. Check back later this year for more information.

Our sincere thanks to all of you who have contributed to either of these funds. If you are interested in designating your gift (or part of your gift) to our class projects, consider making your gift online at http://web.mit.edu/giving/.
