Activities: Askia is active in the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.  He is a member of the MIT Varsity Basketball Team and the American Society of Civil Engineers.  Askia volunteers at the Boston Food Bank, and works on campus as an assistant in the Barker Library. In his free time enjoys playing and watching sports, particularly basketball, football, golf and fishing.

Keith Durand, ’05 (Renewal)

Hometown: Houston, Texas

Activities: Keith is active in his fraternity, Tau Epsilon Phi.  He is an Emerson Music Scholar, and participates in the MIT Symphony Orchestra.  Keith is a member of the Formula SAE Racing Team, through which he has an undergraduate research position.  He is an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.  In his free time, Keith enjoys restoring antique automobiles, most recently completing the restoration of a 1956 Chevy truck.  He also enjoys skiing, camping, and building Tesla coils.

Summer activity: Working at his UROP position.

Career plan: Working in either the automotive or music industry.
