The Challenge The Row consisted of two heats, a qualifying heat and a final heat, using eight-man shells. Both heats began at the near side of the Harvard Bridge and ended at the far side of the boat house pier. All boats competed with a handicap of 1.5 seconds for every five years out. 1963 Wins Close Race The final race was very close with the class of 1963 edging out two other teams, '73 and the combined classes of '68, '58, and '53 who tied for second place. Final times were 1963: 1:02.5, 1973 and 1968/58/53: 1:03.5. 2003 Class Reunion Crew Challenge

The 2003 Class Reunion Crew Challenge took place Sunday morning June 8, 2003 at the Pierce Boathouse, 8am - 11am. Jack Lynch assembled two full shells for the Reunion Row, (the only class to do so) with 14 oarsmen, two coxswains, and a manager. *Ken Andersen, *Harvey Bines, *Elliott Bird, *Dennis Buss, *Ron Cheek, *Tony Fiory, *Bill Gadzuk, *Bob Johnson, *Bob Kurtz, *Jim Latimer, *Jack Lynch, *Rick Metzinger, *Murray Morton, *Jerry Skinner, *John Wasserlein, *Ron Young, and *Bob Vernon participated.

Under a handicapping system based on class year we came in first and fourth in a field of nine. Our first shell won in record time of 1:02.5. Our second shell finished only 2 seconds behind, also beating all previous Reunion Row winning times. - -
