Steve Silberberg (who made it into this column by mistake - he's in another class) announces that if you want to see scanned in images of his collection of more than 120 air sickness bags (ostensibly unused) from airlines all over the world, try his Air Sickness Bag Virtual Museum at http://rampages.onramp.net/~stevebo/airsick.html. However if the thought of that just makes you want to vomit, how do you spell relief?
Try http://web.mit.edu/alum/www/Class/mit1963[Update: http://alumweb.mit.edu/classes/1963/]. Yes! Our very own web page! Thanks to Ron Young, XVI, aided by staff coordinator Robert Dimmick and Jason Slibeck, '91, of the alumni office, our class went cyber the first week of May. Ron is looking for suggestions to incorporate into the page. He also is establishing a list of our e-mail addresses, but you will have to give him permission to post yours. Some ideas include posting the current class notes, giving a three month lead before they appear in Technology Review. He may post past columns. I hope so; then you can see the original, unexpurgated versions of these articles. We're certainly going to see information about our 35th reunion (would you believe?) next June. Surf our page. Give him your ideas. This is a milestone in technology. Actually today, May 11, as I'm writing this, was another milestone in technology. Deep Blue, the IBM chess computer defeated world chess champion Garry Kasparov, 3.5 to 2.5 in a six game match, winning the final game in only 19 moves. As the cheer we learned as undergraduates goes, "Rah for technology, ology, ology, oh...," but is it, really?
