Laurence Gardner, MD, vice dean and chairman of the Department of Medicine, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, (and chair of the National Board of Medical Examiners) recently received the Laureate Award from the Florida chapter of the American College of Physicians in recognition of his lifetime achievements on the field of internal medicine.

Classmate James N. Hallock is a member of the Columbia Accident Investigation Board. Hallock, who earned the S.B. (1963), S.M. (1969) and Ph.D. (1972) in physics, worked on the development of the Apollo guidance computer at the MIT Instrumentation Lab in the 1960s. Hallock is currently division manager of the Aviation Safety Division at the U.S. Department of Transportations Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge.
