MIT-Freshman-Light-Crew-Trip
Here is the Class of 1963 Freshman Crew, making our first rowing trip ever, up to Dartmouth College in the spring of 1960. I am not 100% certain of every name here; if I have any doubt, I'll indicate it with a (?).
Left to Right, back row: Dick Chen (?); Mike Greata; Jack Lynch; Bob Ramers (?); Ed Kaminski; Lou Taff; Steve Aldrich; Lauren Sompayrac; and Coach, Gary Zwart. Front row: Bob Vernon (all 119 pounds of me).

I've also attached a tif file that I just received today from Jenny O'Neil at the MIT Museum. Since I wasn't around to get the 1961 edition of Technique, she was kind enough to scan a crew picture from it (around page 5.) Since the cox appears to be you, I thought you would appreciate getting it. The quality is not the greatest so it may not show up on the website to well.

I'm guessing the line-up is as follows:
Bow - Tom Taylor
#2 - Ron Cheek (the sunglasses are the clue)
#3 - Ken Anderson
#4 - ?
#5 - Jim Latimer
#6 - Murray Morton
#7 - Tony Fiori?
Strk- Chris Miller
Cox - Ron Young

Feel free to pass this around to these guys when/if you ID them all.

Thanks, again, for all your efforts in coordinating this year's row AND for coxing us!

Murray

[Note: I think one of the other guys is coxing here. Maybe Ron Lam?
