The 50th Reunion Gift Campaign
Recognizing the critical needs of the Institute, the Class of 1960 has organized a 50th Reunion Gift Committee to reach out to all of our Class. The 45 dedicated members of our Committee marshaled by geographic regions to achieve a class gift to MIT of $10+ million, to be contributed or pledged by 70+% of our Classmates and then announced June 5th, during our 50th Reunion celebrations. Through the kind generosity of our Class, over $7 million already has been pledged or donated. The success of our 50th Reunion Gift campaign can ensure that multiple generations of MIT students will benefit from the opportunities we enjoyed during our years in Cambridge. .At our 25th Reunion, we established the Class of 1960 Endowment for Innovation in Education: EFIE . Drawing upon income from EFIE, the Provost has named 36 Class of 1960 Fellows since then to support innovative academic programs across all schools and departments, at graduate and undergraduate levels. Our campaign seeks additional generous contributions to MIT—designated to further the success of EFIE or specific areas of need such as scholarships, alternative funds or needs matched to the specific interests and passions of the donor. To explore, please visit Giving Your participation is fundamental to our success as a class and becomes a vote of support for MIT. In this difficult economic environment, MIT needs our support more than ever— your gift can make a difference. Our 50th Reunion Gift will include all contributions from classmates between July 1, 2005 and June 30, 2010, plus pledges made during the academic year ending June 30, 2010, which are payable by June 30, 2015. Please visit Reunions .
We thank you for your generosity and hope to see you at our Reunion.
