1953
Class Scholarship Fund Recipients
2001-2002
I am delighted to report the Class of 1953 Scholarship Fund awardee for 2001/2002. Andrew Morten ’05 of Randolph, Nebraska has been selected as the new class scholar this year. Andrew Morten ’05, who has yet to decide on a major, is a spring graduate of Randolph Senior High School; where he was the president of the student council and treasurer of his class. A pianist, he played with the jazz band, the pep band and the All-State Band. He sang with the swing choir and the chorus, participated in drama and was captain of a national second-place winning team in the junior engineering and technology society competition. Andrew volunteers as an accompanist in his church, school and community and has done lawn-care to earn some money. He plans a career in research. As you know, support from the Class of 1953 helps MIT maintain its commitment to admitting the best and brightest, regardless of need. On behalf of the Alumni Association and the Institute, I send sincere thanks for the Class of 1953’s contributions to this fund. |
