1953
Class Scholarship Fund Recipients
2000-2001
I just learned that Justin Raade ’01 of Washburn, Wisconsin has been renewed as the Class of 1953 Scholar for 2000-2001. I am delighted to give you an update on his activities. A senior majoring in mechanical engineering, Justin is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and is eligible now for Pi Tau Sigma, the national mechanical engineering honor society. When not engaged in academic pursuits, he spends some of his spare time pursuing his musical interests. He plays both the electric guitar and the piano. Justin’s other extracurricular interests include membership in the MIT Easy Riders Club where he pursues his motorbikes/dirtbike hobby and gets involved in engine rebuilding with his fellow MIT students. An active member of Theta Delta Chi, Justin also enjoys playing intramural hockey with his fraternity brothers. Over the summer, he worked for C.G. Bretting Manufacturing Company in Wisconsin. He plans to acquire a master's degree and then become a professional engineer. As you know, support from the Class of 1953 helps MIT maintain its commitment to admitting the best and brightest, regardless of need. On behalf of the Alumni Association and the Institute, I send sincere thanks for the Class of 1953’s contributions to this fund. |
