50th Reunion Information  - Biography Request
Please Print this form if you plan to mail it. Or you can Print the PDF version of this form. [pdf]

Dear Members of the Class of 1953,

One of the projects planned for our 50th reunion is to construct and distribute a reunion book similar to the one that resulted from our 40th reunion. The core of the book will be information about each individual in the class recounting the events since graduation and offering reflections on the intervening 50 years. The Reunion Book Committee asks that you submit information now for the book. As with any sort of yearbook like this, we hope that you will find it an interesting and important record of your association with MIT and our class.

Enclosed is a draft of the format that will be used for the individual biography pages. There will be one page per person. We will get somebody with a sense of artistic arrangement to perhaps lend a bit more style to the page layout. The 1953 picture will be taken from the yearbook. If you were not in the 1953 Technique, we ask that you submit a picture of yourself from about that era. We also need a recent picture of you (probably a head shot), plus, if you wish, an additional recent picture in an informal setting.

There is no special form for submitting your personal information. Use the enclosed sample page as a guide for length and layout. The section heads designate the kinds of information that we hope everybody will submit, but the headings are flexible and can be changed if you think it appropriate for your case. If necessary, we will edit your information to fit on the page.

It would be a tremendous help to us if your text information can be submitted in machine-readable format. None of us ever learned to type very well. The easiest way may be using email to: Mark2149@cox.net, copying the text information into the body of the email message, or any other way that seems suitable. If you do not have easy access to email send me a hard copy (preferably typed) of the information at the address shown on the enclosed sample page. The photograph(s) is probably best sent in a hard copy to help preserve its quality.

Let me take this opportunity to ask for any other photographs or documents that you think suitable for the reunion book. Especially interesting would be pictures taken at past reunions. These types of items add special interest to the book. We will return the photos to you when the book has been finished, so please be sure print your name clearly on the back of each one.

Please contact me if there any questions.

Sincerely yours,

Mark Schupack, for the Reunion Book Committee
