PAST EVENTS
Fiftieth Reunion
Salient points:
- After fifty years of serving the Class tirelessly and with
a generosity of spirit, Bob Mann retired as President,
to be replaced by Malcolm Green, who, with wife Susan,
had organized our eminently successful forty-fifth and fiftieth
reunions.
- Bob Snedeker, faithful Class Secretary (never a 1950
Report missing in "Tech Review") has also
retired. The new Secretary: Joseph D. D'Annunzio (see
below for addresses).
- Jon Ganger, Treasurer, announced with pride our Class
Gift to MIT: $6,117,000, the highest of any reuning classes reporting
this year. Participating: 64%, a tie with one other class.
- About 240 alumni, most with spouses, attended
the Reunion. Situation on campus: warm, exciting, a terrific
Boston Pops and Class Dinner, with the newly instituted "Gala"
afterwards (an evening of music, dancing, celebrating after
dark in the Great Court, lately renamed Killian Court).
- Adjourning to the Mohonk Reservation (resort
in Catskills), over a hundred reported: "A lot of rain,
but we had just as much fun anyway!"
