A recipient of funding from the Class of 1938 Beta Theta Pi Award for 1996-97 has been determined. It gives me great pleasure to write and tell you a little bit about his activities at MIT. Daniel Castro, a junior from Los Angeles, CA is the new recipient this year. Daniel is enrolled in Course 6.2, electrical engineering and computer science, and works hard to do well in his academic studies. Besides his active participation in the fraternity, Daniel plays varsity football for the Institute and belongs to LUChA, an organization of Mexican-Americans at MIT. In his spare time, he enjoys music (he plays saxophone) and chess. After graduation, Daniel is hoping for a career in law. Without
the support of your classmates, MIT could not maintain its commitment
to admitting the best and brightest, regardless of need. On behalf of
the Alumni/ae Association and the Institute, I send sincere thanks for
your contributions to this fund. |
