2000-2001
Le
Truong ’01 of Los Angeles, California, who is a first-time
recipient of support from the Class of 1933, is a senior majoring in management.
A resident of Burton-Connor House, Le is completing his years at MIT with
a near perfect academic record. He has played intramural volleyball and
he sustains a deep enthusiasm for education, particularly that of young
children. Le has been a part of the China Educational Technology Initiative,
working as a coordinator for admissions. He also worked as a tutor in
the community during last year’s Independent Activities Period through
the Institute’s Public Service Center. This past summer, he had
the opportunity to teach in China under the China Educational Technology
Initiative. He looks forward to pursuing a career in finance.
Itty
Samuel ’04 of Bridgeport, Connecticut is another first-time
recipient of support from your class. Itty comes to MIT from Central Magnet
High School. He was the Captain of the State Championship Engineering
Design Challenge Contest; the same entry won third place nationally. He
also was the President of his high school's National Honor Society and
Captain of their Academic Decathlon team. Over the summer, he enjoyed
working as an intern at IBM. Here at MIT, he plans to major in electrical
engineering and computer science.
As you know, support from the Class of 1933 helps MIT maintain its commitment
to admitting the best and brightest, regardless of need. On behalf of
the Alumni Association and the Institute, I send sincere thanks for the
Class of 1933’s contributions to these funds.
